Owing to the outbreak of disturbances at Kwong Tung,

troops are required to be sent to the various places to maintain

military order, and in order to expedite the matter this Canton

Kowloon Railway will be required for transportation of troops

etc. Therefore this Railway should, in accordance with the agree-

-ment, suspend traffic from 1 p.m. today to 1 p.m. the 12th.

instant, and be in readiness for use of military purposes.

As to the loss caused by the suspension of traffic it

will be dealt with according to the terms of the agreement.

Besides communicating this matter by wire to H.E. the

Governor of Hongkong to whom I have also wired to the Board of

Posts and Comunications requesting them to address, and I here-

-with write this to you for your information.
